Dr.Walker Internet Step Challenge

Our aim is to increase the number of steps that people take daily as a way to prevent chronic diseases as well as improve mood, concentration and emotional health. Importantly, inactivity may increase the risk of developing cancer (including breast, and colon), heart disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, depression and anxiety.

In addition to weight loss, walking offers many other health benefits as well, including:

• Boosts your energy levels

• Boosts mood

• Strengthens your heart

• Improves cognitive function

• Improves your strength and muscle tone

• Lowers blood pressure

• Decreasing diabetes risk

• Reduces body fat

• Improved sleep

• Boosts your immune system

• Reduce stress

• Boost your self-esteem

We challenge each of you to strive for 10,000 steps every day and to increase your physical activity for the above stated reasons.
