How to Make Ginger Water

Ginger water is just as it sounds. Ginger water is a simple drink to make; if you want, it can contain nothing but water and ginger root. A basic ginger water recipe involves simply sprinkling ground ginger into the water, or dropping a few slices of ginger root into your glass.
However, these methods are not the most efficient ways to get ginger to release its natural compounds. Heating the ginger and water together helps the ginger steep, creating a more flavorful experience. Boil the ginger root and water for ten to twenty minutes. One additional consideration is to add a slice or two of lemon to your order which can likewise aid in several digestive processes as well as help to detoxify the body. Essentially, you can make ginger tea and then cool the mixture to produce ginger water.

Are there side effects to changing your water?

Very few people report having allergies to ginger. Allergies include hives and rash. More common side effects include diarrhea and heartburn. If this occurs, discontinue the change immediately. Ginger may also have some effect on blood thinning medication.
