Health Benefits of CBD Oil without THC

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis sativa plant. The non-psychoactive characteristic of this compound means it is able to mediate beneficial effects by interacting with the neuroreceptors in the endocannabinoid system, without producing the effect of a “high”. It is used to make CBD oil by diluting the CBD compound with a carrier oil such as coconut or hemp seed oil.

Many studies have conducted research into the benefits of CBD oil. These evidence-backed benefits include:

• Pain relief: Research has shown that use of CBD oil can help relieve chronic pain and inflammation. This includes neuropathic and back pain, as well as pain from long-term conditions such as peripheral neuropathy, arthritis and multiple sclerosis (MS).

• Alleviating symptoms of mental health conditions: CBD oil has been proven to help relieve symptoms of anxiety if used before a known trigger, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

• Alleviating certain symptoms of cancer: CBD oil can reduce certain symptoms of cancer and side effects of cancer treatment such as pain, nausea and vomiting.

• Neuroprotection: Study findings have shown CBD oil has neuroprotective properties that can be helpful in the management of conditions such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s and MS. This includes a reduction of spasms, seizures and an improvement in quality of life.

• Cardio protection: CBD oil has been shown to be able to lower blood pressure, which lowers the risk of developing heart disease and stroke.

• Sleep improvement: CBD oil has been linked to symptomatic improvement in individuals with sleep disorders, leading to an overall improvement in sleep quality.

• Aid treatment of substance abuse: As CBD oil can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, it is helpful for use in the management of substance abuse and addiction disorders, especially in individuals dealing with opioid addictions.

• Alleviate symptoms related to diabetes: CBD oil has been linked to a reduction in the effects high blood glucose has on the cells in the body. This lowers risks of suffering complications from glucose disorders such as diabetes.
