The Many Benefits of Hydrogen Water

What is Hydrogen Water?

Hydrogen water is water that has been infused with molecular hydrogen (H2) gas. Molecular hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that has antioxidant properties. The process of infusing water with hydrogen gas typically involves dissolving hydrogen gas into water under high pressure, which results in a saturated solution of hydrogen gas in water.
The idea behind hydrogen water is that by drinking water infused with molecular hydrogen, the body can benefit from the antioxidant properties of hydrogen. Molecular hydrogen is believed to have the ability to neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, which can contribute to various diseases and the aging process.
Hydrogen water is available commercially in various forms, including bottled water, hydrogen water generators, and hydrogen water tablets.

How Does it Work?

Hydrogen water works by delivering molecular hydrogen (H2) gas to the body. Molecular hydrogen is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, which can contribute to various health problems such as inflammation, oxidative stress, and aging.
When hydrogen water is consumed, the molecular hydrogen in the water is absorbed into the bloodstream and distributed throughout the body. Once in the body, molecular hydrogen can penetrate cell membranes and access the mitochondria, which are the powerhouses of the cells. Molecular hydrogen can then neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress, which can help to protect cells and tissues from damage.

Is Hydrogen Water Different from Regular Tap Water?

The main difference between regular water and hydrogen water is the presence of molecular hydrogen (H2) gas in hydrogen water. Hydrogen water is water that has been infused with molecular hydrogen gas, either through a chemical reaction or through the use of hydrogen water-generating machines.
Molecular hydrogen is a powerful antioxidant that has been shown to neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, which can contribute to various health problems such as inflammation, oxidative stress, and aging.
Regular tap water, on the other hand, does not contain molecular hydrogen gas. While regular water is essential for hydration and overall health, it does not have the same antioxidant properties as hydrogen water.

What are The Health Benefits of Hydrogen Water?

Here are some potential benefits of hydrogen water:

Antioxidant properties: Molecular hydrogen is a powerful antioxidant that can neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, which can contribute to various diseases and the aging process.
Anti-inflammatory effects: Hydrogen water has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects, which can help reduce inflammation in the body and potentially improve various inflammatory conditions.
Improved athletic performance: Some studies suggest that hydrogen water may have the potential to improve athletic performance by reducing muscle fatigue and improving recovery time.
Improved cognitive function: Hydrogen water may have the potential to improve cognitive function and reduce the risk of cognitive decline by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation in the brain.
Potential for cancer prevention: Some studies suggest that hydrogen water may have the potential to prevent cancer by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation, which can contribute to the development of cancer.

How much Water Should I Drink Daily?

A general guideline is to drink at least 8-ounce glasses of water per day, which is equivalent to about 2 liters or half a gallon. However, some people may require more or less water depending on their individual needs. Remember that about 60% of the human adult body is made of water. The brain and heart are composed of 73% water, lungs about 83% water, skin contains 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79%, and the bones about 31%.

That being said, drinking water is very important. Equally important however is what is the right time to drink.

2 glasses when you wake up with lemon juice
2 glasses 1 hour before food
2 glasses 2 hours after lunch and dinner
1 glass 1 hour before bed

To determine your specific water needs however, you can consider factors such as:
- Activity level: If you are physically active, you may need to drink more water to replace fluids lost through sweat.
- Climate: In hot and humid weather, you may need to drink more water to prevent dehydration.
- Health conditions: Some health conditions such as kidney problems or diabetes may require you to drink more or less water.

Is Hydrogen Water Safe? :

Hydrogen water is generally considered safe for most people, including children. There is no evidence to suggest that hydrogen water is harmful to children when consumed in appropriate amounts.

Is Hydrogen Water Better Than Tap Water?

Here are some potential risks of drinking TAP water:

Contaminants: Drinking TAP water can become contaminated with various substances, including bacteria, viruses, parasites, chemicals, and heavy metals. Some contaminants can cause illness or other health problems.
Fluoride: Exposure to fluoride from TAP water over a long period of time can potentially cause toxic effects on the kidneys. When fluoride levels in the body are too high, the kidneys may be unable to remove them quickly enough, leading to a buildup. This may cause damage to the kidneys, leading to kidney dysfunction or even kidney failure.
Chlorine: Chlorine is often used to disinfect drinking TAP water. However, high levels of chlorine exposure can cause skin irritation, respiratory problems, and other health issues.
Lead: Lead can leach into drinking TAP water from pipes and plumbing fixtures. High levels of lead exposure can cause neurological and developmental problems, especially in children.
Cryptosporidium: This is a parasite that can be found in untreated or poorly treated water sources. It can cause gastrointestinal illness and other health problems.
