Tonsillitis Basil Leaves

Tonsillitis:

Tonsillitis is the inflammation of the tonsils. Tonsil's primary functions are to filter and trap germs that could cause infection in the airways, but they are overwhelmed by the conditions leading to inflammation. Acute symptoms of tonsillitis include pain while swallowing, fever, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes, stiff neck, and swollen tonsils. Chronic symptoms include tonsillar cellulitis, peritonsillar abscess, and obstructive sleep apnea.

Natural Remedy:

Basil leaves.

Why it works:

Basil has antiviral and anti-inflammation properties, which reduces inflammation of the lymph nodes, and promotes the healing process. Its antiseptic properties help kills bacteria and viruses, that cause the infection. Basil is rich in antioxidants, therefore boosting body immunity, further accelerating the recovery from tonsillitis.

What you need:

  • 10 Basil leaves
  • 11/2 cups of water
  • One teaspoon of honey
  • One teaspoon of lemon

Step by Step Guide:

Boil ten basil leaves for 10 minutes. To the basil tea made, add one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of lemon extract. Stir the mixture well and take it 2 to 3 times a day.
