Pain is an unpleasant physical sensation conveyed to the sensory and brain neurons. The nociceptors detect damage in body tissues and transmit this information along the spinal cord to the brain for interpretation; hence a person feels pain. Pain leads to physical and emotional distress. Pain can be acute, chronic or intermittent. Acute pains are a symptom of a severe injury, while chronic pain is associated with stable health conditions.
Capsaicin works by interfering with the pain signals leading to the reduction in the production level of neurotransmitters that binds the pain receptors. Taking capsaicin causes a heat sensation in the body, activating some nerve cells, and as a result, the burning sensation distracts one from feeling pain. This results in instant pain reduction and reduction in tenderness on the affected joints. Capsaicin can be very effective for acute and chronic pain such as backache, toothache, stings, bites, and even arthritis.
Mix the cayenne powder with your preferred carrier oil. Heat the ingredients in a double boiler for 10 minutes. Add in the grated beeswax and stir until it completely melts. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. At the same time, you are mixing the mixture every 10 minutes. Put the mixture in a mason jar and keep it refrigerated. Apply the capsaicin cream at least four times a day for maximum results.
