Nose bleeding is caused by the injury of the blood vessels in the nose, resulting in the blood flowing from the nostrils. Nose bleeding can result from respiratory infections, allergic reactions, harsh nose-blowing, allergic reactions leading to inflammation, hypertension, tumors, breathing very dry air, use of blood thinners, and genetic disorders such as hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). There are two categories of nose bleeds anterior and posterior nosebleed. Anterior is a result of the damage of capillaries on the lower side of the wall that dives the nose while posterior affects deep inside the throat.
Nettle has natural powerful astringent properties that keep nose bleeding from wounds or allergic reactions at bay by slowing the blood flow, thus promoting blood clotting. In addition, the nettle fortifies the blood capillaries in the nose. The anti-inflammatory properties present in nettle leaf reduces inflammations in the nose's inner lining, preventing damage of capillaries that causes nose bleeding. Using dried nettle or nettle leaf tea aids in stopping chronic nose bleeding and increases the iron content in your bloodstream. Nettle leaf tea has anti-allergic properties hence preventing nose bleeding caused by allergies.
Rinse the nettle leaves by the sink. Pour water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Add the ½ cup of nestle and allow it to steep for at least 5 minutes while stirring. Strain the nestle leaves. Serve the tea hot.
