Muscle cramps are a result of involuntary contraction of your body muscles, resulting in tightness and pain. These cramps, also known as muscle spasms, can be triggered by many causes. Muscle cramps may be very painful and could last up to 15 minutes. Sometimes the muscle cramp may be signs of underlying medical problems such as magnesium deficiency, dehydration, physical strain, medications, vitamin D deficiency, or could indicate underlying liver problems. However, sometimes they can pose significant problems as they may disturb your sleep or lend themselves to some degree of anxiety.
Chamomile increases the levels of glycine and amino acids in your body which helps relax muscles. It is naturally caffeine-free and is widely thought to help people relax, fall asleep and get cramp relief. From an infection standpoint, chamomile tea may help fight infections due to colds while also relieving menstrual cramps. It is also theorized that chamomile tea helps decrease blood pressure and stress by triggering chemical reactions in the nervous system. This fragrant tea has been used as a sedative to calm nerves and improve circulation naturally. Some people also reported less anxiety and distress associated with pain.
Put one tablespoon of dried chamomile flowers in a cup. Add boiling water and wait for it to steep for five minutes. Drink when warm.
