Eczema Oatmeal Bath

Eczema:

Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis is a skin condition resulting in skin inflammation; thus, it becomes red and itchy. Eczema flares up sporadically linked to gene variation, asthma, neurodermatitis, and allergies as risk factors. Symptoms of eczema include itchy skin, red skin patches, small raised bumps on the skin, and cracked, scaly skin, which is sensitive to scratching.

Natural Remedy:

Oatmeal bath.

Why it works:

Oatmeal contains Vitamin E, aventhramides, and ferulic acid compounds responsible for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Colloidal oatmeal is theorized to contain starch and beta-glucan, and saponins that help moisturize and cleanse the skin and keep it hydrated—oatmeal acts as a buffer, thus helping the skin to maintain the skin surface pH. Oatmeal works by reducing the skin’s inflammation, holding in skin moisture, and cleansing the skin.

What you need:

  • 1 cup of oatmeal
  • Food processor
  • Warm water

Step by Step Guide:

Blend oatmeal into a fine powder. Pour the fine oatmeal powder into a tub of warm water and stir until it mixes well. Soak the sick person into the water for 15 minutes and gently run the solution onto their skin. Rinse off with Luke warm water.
