EAT RIGHT

The demand for immune health support is on the rise as scientists search for ways of reducing the risk of people getting COVID19. Prebiotics are a form of non-digestible fiber found in foods like green bananas, onions and raw garlic that can help to do just that. Probiotics can also be taken as dietary supplements. Probiotics on the other hand are living microbes (e.g., bacteria, viruses, and fungi) that add to the population of good bacteria in our digestive system. Probiotics are packed with beneficial “gut-friendly” bacteria, that when consumed in adequate amounts, lead to an ideal gut microbiome. Both prebiotics and probiotics support the body in building and maintaining a healthy colony of bacteria and other microorganisms necessary for the gut and aid in your overall health. Studies suggest that taking prebiotic-containing foods changes gut composition to improve immunity, mood and helps to protect the body from viruses and pathogens.
